More Than Floors. A Family Tradition Built on Heart.

Interiors by H&W has proudly served Northeast North Carolina and Southeast Virginia for nearly 65 years, but our story began in 1965 as H&W Plastics, a family-owned business that manufactured sailboat parts.

Originally, the "H&W" stood for Humphries & Wilkerson, reflecting the partnership behind the company. After a devastating fire destroyed the original business, the partnership came to an end when Wilkerson was bought out. As the Humphries family rebuilt, the meaning of "H&W" jokingly shifted to Humphries & Wife—a name that stuck and became a lasting symbol of the family spirit behind the business.

From that determination, Interiors by H&W was born.

The Humphries family built the building that Interiors by H&W still operates in today, and the business has been rooted in that same location since the beginning. Our first showroom opened in Moyock, North Carolina, where we offered a wide range of products all under one roof. As the business grew and demand increased, we eventually expanded by opening additional locations in Kitty Hawk and Elizabeth City.

Throughout the years, we've adapted to meet the changing needs of our customers. What began with fiberglass showers and tubs eventually expanded to include paint, plumbing supplies, hardware, and home improvement products before evolving into the flooring and interior design showroom you know today.

While the products have changed over the decades, one thing has remained the same—our commitment to taking care of our customers.
